Notes from Master Hawkins:   The September testing was a success and everyone displayed their hard work over the months and weeks. The next testing will be in January 20th and January 22nd. No classes scheduled for those days.   Grandmaster Thomas Perry will holding his annual tournament on March 7, 2009. Everyone that wants to compete will need to see Master Hawkins. Now is the time to start training hard for this event.   Now that we have moved  it will take a little time to get everything up and running. We also have some work still to finish in areas of the space.  Welcome to all new members at Hawkins School of Tae Kwon Do. We now have approximately 50 students attending the school. Beginners class every Thursday 5:30   COMING SOON! Koryo Gumdo - "The way of the Korean sword."  Similar to Japanese Kendo, this Korean art is a beautiful martial art involving the use of the long sword...the same one used by the ancient Samurai and Hwarang warriors.  Learn cuts, blocks, stances and the philosophy behind the use of the sword.  Classes available for ages 13 and up.    We will compete in tournaments throughout the year in the Illinois and Missouri area.
